Never Without My Stanley Thermos
I work for the US Forest Service. I was a firefighter in the field for 16 years and noticed early in my career that the coffee-holics that had been around awhile had Stanley steel thermoses that they would keep on the fire engine so they'd have coffee on those long night-shifts on wildfires.
I acquired one of my own around 1990 and was very happy with it. One day in 1992, I inadvertently left it sitting on the running board of the fire truck when we took off...there was a bump and I jumped out to find it laying in the road; the cup was smashed, half the stopper rim was gone and the was a big dent in the side of the body...plus some missing finish. But it had not broken open. I continued to use it for 4 years before replacing it with a new one, mainly because I moved into an office job and decided I needed one that was prettier...the original one was still perfectly functional. Great product, never want to be without one!
