Survived the coal mine cave in!
Hey! I just wanted to share my story with you. I am a West Virginia coal miner in the southern coal fields of West Virginia. Being a constant temperature in the winter of about 42 degrees, a hot thermos of soup or a hot cup of coffe sure tastes good after a long ten to twelve hour day in a six day work week! I have used mine daily for three years now and it is great! I did however have an occurrence with it. I was working on the section at the face where my lunch bucket and my Stanley thermos were hanging on the rib of the mines. We were roof bolting on a two headed bolter when all of a sudden we heard the metal screeching and the top came down! We escaped without injury and the dig began the next day to clean up the fall. The cooler I had was destroyed along with everything in it and alas there we found the thermos, a little dirty and with one small dent but still fine in every way. We opened it up (mind you this was 22 hours later) and three of us enjoyed a cup of still warm coffee! Thanks Stanley as I depend on you to make these tired ole bones feel alive and warm again! Take care and keep up the good work!
