Looks like new, now!

After wasting many dollars on several glass lined thermos bottles,I decided to step up for a Stanley/Aladdin 1.1Qt. steel bottle. Don't remember the price, but with two kids in college at the time, it was my main Christmas present in 1987. Little did we know how inexpensive it was as I'm still using it, 20yrs later, every day.

I have filled it with hot coffee at 6am. every morning, six days a week for all these years, and still enjoyed a hot cup at my 3pm. break. Even used it many seventh days on outings!

Finally Heidi, my miniture Dashhund, got hold of the stopper as I was cleaning the bottle, and before I realized she had it, she chewed the end and the rubber o rings beond use. Panic, NO, I simply got on Stanley's web site and for $6.00,a new stopper was on its way.

I figured with all the great service I received from my thermos I needed to do somthing to freshen it up a bit. I fixed the handle ( been hooked on with a wire tie for several years) sanded down all the many nicks and scratches, mask off the top and bottom chrome areas, two coats of primer,
two coat of medium green, and a clear top coat and along with the new stopper, the old girl looks new again!

I'm 62yrs. old and I'm sure my Stanley Alladin will out live me!! Guess I'll put in my will to one of the kids because its one of my most valuable assets.
