First Battle Scar

When I was approximately 19 years old working, in the Oklahoma oilfields. Deep hole country. (Western Oklahoma). I was what you would call a derrick hand, when we pull pipe out of the ground to change a drill bit, I would work approximately 90 feet off of the rig platform. To my surprise one day while taking a break in the derrick, My Stanley Model # A - 944C Thermos slipped and fell to the rig platform. I said to myself, well their went a $20.00 dollar bill. So I crawled down the ladder to retrieve my Stanley Thermos. When I got down, The Driller, and the other three floor hands had pick it up, and to everybody’s amazement, the only thing wrong with my Stanley was it received it's first battle scar, A nice dent on the bottom of my Stanley. The next day, when I showed up for work, all four of my coworkers had bought a new Stanley Thermos.

PS. What inspired me to write this story? Was about a week ago the black hard plastic handle that I brought with my Stanley (It was an accessory). Finally broke and I’m looking to buy a new one. Thank you for producing a product that is so tough.
