The Game Stanley
It was football season, 1986, and I took my son, who was twelve years old at that time, to see my old hometown high school football team play in the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. On the way back home that night, my son drank coffee for the first time from the big classic thermos.
In the ensuing years, the thermos became known as, “The Game Thermos,” because it was always accompanied us when we would go to out of town games.
When my son graduated from college, and started coaching, I gave him “The Game Thermos.”
My son is now thirty-two, and a high school football coach in Elgin, OK. “The Game Thermos,” is old, and missing a little paint, but it still keeps coffee hot, and accompanies my son when the team he is coaching goes on the road, or he has out of town event to attend.
